Dear Apple Holler, I just wanted to let you know how wonderful our sleigh ride on December 23 was. The weather could not have been better. Your employees were personable, informative, and helped make our sleigh ride a memorable experience. And, the mother-daughter team of horses worked very had to pull us around the orchard.

We loved having a bonfire for the group that had to wait for the second sleigh ride. The children roasted marshmallows and drank the hot chocolate that was provided. Because of the nice weather, we didn’t have to stay inside the barn too much. But, it was nice knowing we have someplace to warm up if needed.

Sleigh Ride FAQs

How long is the sleigh ride?

The sleigh ride itself is approximately 20 minutes (weather permitting). Afterward, you have the campfire area reserved for about another 30-45mins, making the entire experience about an hour.

What happens if there’s no snow?

There are no refunds, but we can reschedule for another date within the same season or conduct your ride as a wagon ride instead of a sleigh (weather permitting). If it’s getting closer to the end of the season and we haven’t had a snow day, we’ll have to conduct it as a wagon ride.

How long in advance do I need to book?

You can book your sleigh ride as early as a year ahead of time- especially if you want to book for Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, or New Year’s Day. You can book your ride up to 48 hours before your desired date. Time slots book up quickly, so the earlier you book, the better!

Are there any age restrictions for the Sleigh Ride?

All ages are welcome on our Horse-Drawn Sleigh Rides!

What should we bring for the ride?

Wear warm clothing! You’re welcome to bring blankets and long carrots if you’d like to feed the horses.

Is the Sleigh Ride private or shared with others?

All sleigh rides are completely private, just you, your loved ones (and our drivers!).

Can we book sleigh rides for large groups or events?

Our sleighs comfortably seat up to 10 people. If your group is bigger than 10, we will have to split it into multiple rides. We’re happy to try to accommodate your group!

What is included in the Sleigh Ride experience?

Each Horse-Drawn Sleigh Ride experience includes a ride through the orchard on a horse-drawn carriage, private campfire, fixings for s’mores, hot chocolate or hot apple cider, a heated dome, many photo opportunities, and memories to last a lifetime!

Reservations can only be made over the phone with our sleigh ride coordinator, Elyse. Please call at (262)884-7100.

Is the sleigh accessible for individuals with disabilities?

The campfire area is wheelchair accessible. Please note: there are two small steps to get onto the wagon/ sleigh.

What is your cancelation or rescheduling policy?

There are no refunds or returns. If you need to cancel your ride, please call us as soon as possible to reschedule your sleigh ride within the same season.
